Blair Castle

Blair Castle, Pitlochry, Perthshire To the north of the Perth to Inverness road, where it turns westward at the Pass of Killiecrankie, in the wide Strath of Garry, near the village of Blair Atholl, a short detour along a great avenue of lime trees rewards the traveller with the sight of Blair Castle.

Every day the sound of the resident piper may be heard throughout the grounds of the castle which has been home to the Earls and Dukes of Atholl since 1269.

Today Blair Castle is Scotland's most visited privately-owned historic house. Thirty fully furnished rooms are open to view and each contains an aspect of the fine collections so skillfully and passionately tended, over the years, by the Murray family.
