Nottingham Castle

Situated high above the city, Nottingham Castle has had a turbulent 1000 year history, which is waiting to be explored! Once a medieval castle built by William the Conqueror but demolished during the civil war, Nottingham Castle is now a Seventeenth Century mansion, built over 300 years ago. There's lots to see and do inside the Castle, with a range of exciting historical and contemporary art exhibitions. Find out more about the history of Nottingham, see paintings, sculptures, china and silverware or have fun exploring art in the children's gallery. Why not venture down into the caves underneath the building and explore the hidden passageways or play in the Lookout! playground on the Green.
