Tower of London

Begun by William the Conqueror in 1078, the Tower of London has served as a Royal residence, fortress, mint, armoury and more infamously as a place of execution. It now makes a great day out for all family.

See the Crown Jewels on display in the magnificent Jewel House and explore the White Tower, which houses stunning collections of arms and armour from the Royal Armouries collection.

Above the notorious Traitor's Gate within the Tower's walls, costumed guides evoke courtly life in the thirteenth century in the Medieval Palace.

In addition throughout the year there is a fabulous programme of special events where costumed guides bring to life the happy, daring and sometimes gruesome tales associated with the Tower.

With all this and more it is easy to see why the Tower of London has been voted Visitor Attraction of the Year 2000 by the London Tourist Board and is the nation's leading historic visitor attraction!
